La Cadière d'Azur; Triassic stony clay limestone (red clay, gypsum, dolomite, limestone, conglomerate and sandstone). Terraces of the Moulin des Costes, open to the Mediterranean Sea, very typical of the appellation.

Harvesting and vinification
Handmade in the vineyard and in the cellar. Cuvée Charriage is almost pure Mourvèdre, the grapes come from a selection of 45 year old vines, an ambitious coupage of beautiful concentration and great ripeness. Harvested late, regular daily hat dipping (pigeage), long fermentation, aged in new barriques for a minimum of 18 months.
Sensory properties
Bright, intense, deep ruby colour. The aroma is dominated by spice, menthol and cedar. Lingering flavour with strong tannins, blackberry and black pepper aftertaste
Pairing with dishes
Perfect accompaniment to venison, duck, truffles, boneless leg of lamb, beef with olives, zucchini blossoms with truffles, roasted parmigiana purpurea.

Archiving potential
10-20 years, long decanting gives all the intensity of the Mourvèdre variety.
