BANDOL
Between land and sea
The history of the Provence wine region in south-eastern France dates back to the 6th century BC. The Bandol AOC appellation was given to the region's key appellation in 1941 and became synonymous with the Mourvèdre variety, which is the main and key component (min. 50 %) of local red wines. One that would be difficult to create in any other region of France. Mourvèdre will only ripen reliably in a climate as sunny and hot as the one along the Mediterranean coast. But as well as reds, Bandol also boasts excellent rosé and white wines.
